Lesson

Use this checklist any time you're about to send, swap, connect or sign.

Before you act

  • Did I start this, or did a message start it? If a message, slow down.
  • Am I on the official app or a bookmarked site?
  • Is anyone asking for my recovery phrase, private key or codes? If yes — stop.

Before you confirm

  • Is the address right, from a trusted source, checked at the start, middle and end?
  • Is the network the same on both sides?
  • Do I understand what I'm approving or signing?
  • Is the fee reasonable?

Keep your setup tidy

  • Keep software up to date.
  • Use separate wallets: one for everyday use with small amounts, one for long-term holdings.
  • Consider a hardware wallet for larger amounts.

Key points

  • Ask: who started this?
  • Official app or bookmark only.
  • Never share phrase, keys or codes.
